ITV News is the news service of ITV, the country's oldest commercial television network. Its journalists report on politics and events in UKOGB on the website and in the Discord server, and it is regulated by Ofcom.
History
ITV began broadcasting in 1955 as the first rival to the BBC, paid for by advertising. Its news has always aimed to be lively and close to its viewers.
Role
ITV News covers politics and current affairs, holds ministers and the Opposition to account in interviews, and publishes its reports on the website. Its editor decides which members join it as journalists, subject to Ofcom's rules.
Positions
In UKOGB ITV News is run by members who hold its posts on the website. Its head is the Editor, ITV News, who can edit the organisation's page, appoint people to its other roles and speak for it in public. The current holders are shown in the box on this page and on the organisation's page on the website, and each post brings its own Discord roles and website permissions.
